Article by Shannon Schussler Walton County enjoyed winning many medals and ribbons the weekend of October 19-21, 2018 at the Special Olympic State Games in Gainesville, Georgia. Thirty-eight athletes from Walton County participated. Special Olympians Walton Astros win Gold in Gainesville Fall Games 2018 Modified Softball Way to go Astros!

State Special Olympic Games 2018 The fireworks!  Wow, good job Hall County! Hooray for the dancers, Lisa Fogie, Rod Smith, and Sam Adams! Congratulations Wolverines!  Don't miss the medals at the end.

The Georgia Special Olympic State Fall Games 2018 will be held in Gainesville October 19-21. Bus pick up will be at Carver Middle School leaving promptly at 10:30 am and Loganville High School leaving promptly at 10:50 am. The bus is scheduled to return October 21, approximately at 11 am at Loganville High School.  Monroe students can be picked up approximately at 11:30 am at Carver Middle School. Please bring $10 per player to cover costs of feeding the athletes.
